Folia Eczema Study FAQs

  • This is an at-home, app-based study collecting everyday health observations from people living with eczema. The symptoms you notice, things you try to relieve them, and ultimate effectiveness of the care you receive are important details that can help develop better therapies for eczema. By being part of this program, you will be able to contribute to key research questions about eczema simply by tracking your health in the Folia Health platform.

  • To start, you’ll participate in a compensated, one month remote observation period (“pilot”), during which time you’ll track your eczema symptoms, treatments, and flare events.

After this one-month pilot ends, you’ll complete a short survey and continue to track in Folia for your own use, and the data you track may be used to answer future research questions about the eczema patient experience.

  • You will be compensated up to a total of $50 for your participation in the one month pilot study. You will be paid via a gift card system called Tremendous.

Remember, participation is voluntary, and you can leave at any time, for any reason.

  • -Sign up and register for a Folia Health account

-Agree that you’re eligible to participate (you’re 18+ years old, living in the US, and have been diagnosed with eczema) or are a caregiver to a minor with eczema

-Review and sign a consent form to participate in the study

-Share a medical document showing that you’ve been diagnosed with eczema by a doctor

-Track your symptoms and treatment use in the Folia app, at least for one month

-At the end of the first month, complete a short survey about your health

  • All data you put in the Folia app belongs to you, and only the researchers on the study team, the Study Sponsor, and the IRB board overseeing the study may see the data you enter as part of the study. De-identified, aggregate data may also be shared with regulatory bodies such as the FDA.

  • This study is funded by Folia Health.
